Speakers
Konika Schallen, MD, Medical Director of the Candela Institute for Education. Dr. Schallen has been practicing medicine for over 20 years and aesthetic medicine for 10 years. In the past several years, she has combined her interests in aesthetic medicine, laser medicine and teaching through her work with the worldwide industry leaders in lasers and devices in over 40 countries, and currently serves as the company’s Global VP of Clinical Operations and Medical Director. Her clinical aesthetic practice is based in Jacksonville, Florida.
Diala Haykal, MD, Cosmetic and Laser Doctor, leads the Centre Médical Laser Esthétique Palaiseau in Palaiseau, France, offering modern cosmetic treatments. With a diploma in Aesthetic Medicine and Lasers from París V Descartes University, she also completed leadership programs at HEC Business School and Harvard University. Dr. Haykal contributes to academia and serves as an international speaker and KOL. She's an esteemed member of the American Board of Aesthetic Medicine and professional societies like the French Society of Lasers in Dermatology and the European AI Alliance.
Jelena Jeftic, MD, a dermatologist from Belgrade, Serbia, specializes in clinical and laser dermatology. She's skilled in Candela lasers and actively participates in scientific research. Dr. Jeftic is a member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, the Association of Dermatovenerologists of Serbia, and the Association of Serbian Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology.
Prof. Firas Al-Niaimi, MD, is an award-winning dermatologist with extensive experience and over 230 scientific publications. Trained in top UK hospitals, including St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, he's a pioneer in laser dermatology. Prof. Al-Niaimi received the Global Excellence Award for Consultant Dermatologist of the year twice and is the first professor in laser dermatology in the UK.
Cordula Ahnhudt-Franke, MD, specializes in Aesthetic Dermatology and Laser Medicine. She runs mySkin practice in Mallorca, Spain, and is a member of various medical and aesthetic societies in Europe and the USA, including the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and the European Society for Lasers and Energy-Based Devices.
Nikola Drmac, MD, a pioneer in laser use, graduated from the University “Magna Grecia” in Italy. He specializes in various laser treatments and heads the laser therapy department at the European Institute of Dermatology in Milan. Dr. Drmac's clinic in Crotone, Italy, is a Candela Center of Excellence, performing numerous treatments annually, including small surgeries and biopsies.
