About the Speaker

Dr. Konika Patel Schallen has been practicing medicine for over 20 years and aesthetic medicine for over10 years. In the past several years, she has combined her interests in aesthetic medicine, laser medicine and teaching through her work with the worldwide industry leaders in lasers and devices in over 40 countries, and has served as Candela’s SVP, Clinical Operations and Medical Director. Her clinical aesthetic practice is based in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Cordula Ahnhudt-Franke is a Consultant Dermatologist with a PhD from the Department of Dermatology, Charité, Berlin. Dr. Ahnhudt-Franke specialized in Aesthetic Dermatology and Laser Medicine and has been running her mySkin practice in Mallorca, Spain since 2002. She is a member of several medical and aesthetic societies both in Europe and the USA, such as Academía Espanola de Dermatología y Venerología (AEDV), Akne Forum e.V. , American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM) , Asociación Medicina estética de Islas Baleares (AMEIB), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Botulinumtoxin-Therapie (DGBT), Deutscher Fachjournalisten-Verband (DFJV) , European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology (ESCAD), International Society of Dermatology (ISD) , Sociedad Espanola de Medicina y Cirugía Cosmética (SEMCC) and Asociación Medicina estética de Islas Baleares (AMEIB).

Prof. Firas Al-Niaimi, MD is a world-renowned, award winning dermatologist with over 230 scientific publications in medical journals, 10 book chapters (and his own book) and over 600 scientific presentations in more than 60 countries around the globe. Prof. Al-Niaimi is a highly experienced and respected consultant dermatologist with nearly 20 years of medical experience. He was trained in some of the UK’s top hospitals, including the largest dermatology department in Europe (Manchester), and the world-renowned St. John’s Institute of Dermatology at St. Thomas’ hospital, where he completed a prestigious laser and Mohs surgical fellowship there. He is also one of very few dermatologists with a formal fellowship-trained skills in laser dermatology at the highest academic level. Currently, in addition to his private practice, he is involved in academic research and international teaching and training of doctors, and was awarded the Global Excellence Award for the title Consultant Dermatologist of the year twice, in 2019 and 2022, in London given his services and commitment to dermatology. In 2021, he was appointed professor in dermatology and became the first and only professor in laser dermatology in the UK.
