Associate Professor Philip Bekhor graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1973 and has qualified as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatology in 1978.

He is the Foundation Director of the Laser Unit at the Royal Children’s Hospital established in 1989. This unit treats vascular and pigmentary birthmarks using the Candela Vbeam, GentleYAG, CO2 and Q-switched YAG lasers.

His special interests include laser or light applications in skin treatment and vascular anomalies/birthmarks. He also has a special interest in minimally invasive cosmetic treatments. Dr. Bekhor is on the Expert Advisory Committee of the Australian College of Dermatologists. He is a Mohs skin cancer surgeon at the Skin & Cancer Foundation of Victoria. He has published numerous papers in the peer-reviewed literature including studies in the treatment of birthmarks and vascular anomalies.
