Welcome to our Live Only webinar Advance Case Discussion Forum: COE Series with our expert panel Dr. Carl Cheng, Dr. Konika Schallen & Dr. Lei Yan. 

This NEW COE webinar series is an online platform for experts to share and discuss their clinical experiences and learnings, from understanding patients’ needs, accurate diagnosis, and designing treatment plans via the application of the PicoWay® system.

Dr. Carl Cheng is a board-certified dermatologist in Taiwan and founded Haute Beaute Skin & Vein Clinic in 2006 and The Bundles Skin Clinic in 2014 in Taipei. He was interested in laser, RF, and ultrasound technology, various injectables such as toxin, fillers, PLC and PLLA, and even cosmetic surgery including liposuction, fat transfer and endovenous laser procedure in varicose vein.

He also gave lectures in international congresses such as IMCAS, ASLMS. World Congress of Dermatology and had trained many physicians in energy-based devices and injectables in Asia. ​



Dr. Konika Schallen

Dr. Konika Schallen is the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Medical Director in Candela Institute for Excellence. Dr. Schallen has been practicing medicine for over 25 years. She combines her interests in lasers, aesthetic medicine, research and teaching in her daily practice. As Candela’s Senior VP of Clinical Operations, she has worked with leading physicians and industry experts in lasers and energy-based medical devices in over 40 countries. Her clinical aesthetic practice is based in Jacksonville, Florida.​



Dr. Lei Yan

Dr. Lei Yan is the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology at Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital Medical Group, Chengdu Xinlimei Medical Beauty Hospital. She is also the Secretary-General of the Chronic Skin Disease Management and Health Promotion Branch of the China Anti-aging Promotion Association, and China Plastic and Cosmetic Association ​
She worked in Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital for 10 years after she graduated in 2009. Dr. Yan is skilled at treating inflammatory, pigmented and vascular lesions with various laser and other energy-based devices. ​
While Dr. Yan was the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology at Chengdu Badachu Medical Beauty Hospital from 2019-2020, she was highly focused on treating complicated skin conditions, such as melasma, rosacea, and photoaging skin. She also has extensive experience in chemical peeling, phototherapy, and mesotherapy. ​
Her current works at the Chengdu Xinlimei Medical Beauty Hospital focus on expanding the treatment for hair and stretch marks.​
She's an advocate for public welfare and academic excellence. She led the team in creating a social media channel, and the motto is: "Read professional literature and be a considerate doctor". The content of the channel covers the latest news from the local and foreign medical aesthetic industry. There are over 100 informative publication updates, and nearly 7,000 medical and aesthetic doctors have liked the channel. It is also the first channel in China to provide interpretation to peer-reviewed publications. Her goal is to provide more evidence-based knowledge to Chinese doctors and to create a meaningful impact.
